Bible Verse Memorization List

Going off of my last post, I thought I would compile a list of verses that have been especially helpful to me in various seasons of life and some I would like to add to my own arsenal. I thought instead of weekly verses (my brain can't retain that fast anymore) I would start with 12 verses. The goal is to memorize one verse each month for the year. I know that may seem to be too gentle of an approach, but I encourage you to take the full month to marinate in the words. Write them down and put them where you will see them regularly and just soak it in. And if you are reading this post months after it was written and you want to participate, just jump in! 12 verses for 12 months. It doesn't have to start in January. So, without further ado, the first 12 verses:

1. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and I will help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

2. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

3. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways,' declares the Lord. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

4. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever." Hebrews 13:8

5. "So we do not lost heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day." 2 Corinthians 4:16

6. "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" 2 Peter 3:9

7. "I said to the Lord, 'You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." Psalm 16:2

8. "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Psalm 27:14

9. "When I am afraid I will trust in you." Psalm 56:3

10. "You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you." Psalm 86:5

11. "For you, O Lord, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living." Psalm 116:8-9

12. "You hem me in- behind and before, you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain." Psalm 139:5-6
