Sophie Nix and her husband, Jonas, live in Columbia, SC with their lab-chow, Ollie. Jonas is a band director at a local middle and high school and Sophie, is a hairstylist at a salon downtown. In December 2015, they found out that they were expecting their first child! When February 2016 rolled around, they received news that their daughter was unlikely to reach full term due to a rare genetic defect. On April 18th, 2016 Emerson Ann was delivered without a heartbeat.

Emmy's Corner is inspired by our first born daughter, Emerson Ann. For now, this little boutique will feature some of my (Sophie's) favorite handmade baby items. Each piece is made by yours truly and every woven tag, hand stitched. I hope these items are worn lots and loved well.
